Proposed new membership policy

In conjunction with modernising the constitution, and after long consideration, the Board has proposed a more contemporary form of membership, reflecting our role as the global network of city and regional planners everywhere. The new membership policy contains some detailed administrative provisions, but it also states four simple principles.

  1. Individual members make up the society.
  2. Everyone professionally involved in city and regional planning is encouraged to join the society.
  3. The standard for acceptance as a member of the International Society of City and Regional Planners is that the applicant has the education and/or experience to practice city and regional planning and housing as a professional planner, administrator, policy maker, urban advocate, developer, teacher, or researcher.
  4. The fee for individual membership of the International Society of City and Regional Planners is €54 per annum.

Members are encouraged to read the new Constitution here.
