Background and objectives
The ISOCARP Student Award, established in 2016, is dedicated to the future generation of planners, those who will be in charge of taking care of our urban environment. The award is bestowed to a student or a group of students at both levels (undergraduate-bachelor and/or graduate-master) with outstanding results in urban and regional planning or related field.
The submissions may include the following:
- Design projects
- Studio projects
- Bachelor theses
- Master theses
- Methodological approach
- Creativity and innovation
- Alliance between the project idea and results
The jury is composed of the following members: two young planners, one experienced member, a member of the ISOCARP Scientific Committee and a member of the ISOCARP Board.
Substance of the Award
The Award is bestowed in two categories: Winner and Special Mention. The Award winners are announced during the official ceremony at the ISOCARP annual World Planning Congress.
Winner: one year of free membership to ISOCARP (in case of group one person of the group), free entrance to the congress, official ISOCARP certification of the award and its dissemination through the ISOCARP website, social media and newsletter.

Pay the registration fee € 20 for each application (link to be updated)
Each candidature (individual or group) should submit 5 pdf files including:
- Portfolio with graphical representations necessary to illustrate the work (max. 4 A3 pages)
- Description of the submitted project (no more than 5,000 characters with spaces)
- Curriculum Vitae
- Letter of application (underlying the results that recommend them to win the award)
- Recommendation letter(signed by one of their university professors)
