DESCRIPTION:“GLOBAL VILLAGE: SHELTER FOR RESILIENT LIVING”\nDecember 8-10\, 2021\nBelgrade\, Serbia (due to Covid-19\, the conference will be held online for free) \nAbstract deadline is extended to September 30\, 2021.  \nWe are living in a Refugee World running away from ourselves. Constant movement is its main characteristic: We are nomads. The main question of the conference is: Can global village be the shelter for us? Is it a new paradigm for architecture and planning? \nNetworks of local and traditional patterns and forms of living are breaking down. It can be said that in this context\, “iconic nomads” are formed and mature as spokespersons of local cultures. They are bearers of collective and personal identity and as such participate in creating a global village\, incorporating elements of diversity and establishing new socio-cultural networks. The conference will discuss the advantages and disadvantages of this paradigm at the architectural\, urban-morphological\, technological and planning level. \nThe thematic sessions of the conference are:\n1. Architecture of/for iconic nomads: patterns\, forms\, systems\n2. Organising and arranging the global village: development instruments and models\n3. Resilient ways of living in global risks (e.g. COVID)\n4. Modern technologies in risk management of territories\n5. Forms of movement and mobility management in the global village \nThis conference will host keynote speeches from ISOCARP Secretary General\, Frank D’hondt\, and honorary Board Member\, Elisabeth Belpaire. \nMore information here.
