Background and Objectives

The ISOCARP Student Award, established in 2016, is dedicated to the future generation of planners, those who will be in charge of taking care of our urban environment. The award is bestowed to a studentora group of students at both levels(undergraduatebachelor and/or graduatemaster) with outstanding results in  urban and regional planning or related field. Please submit a copy of your student ID or university card as proof. 

Eligible entries

The submissions may include the following:

  • Design projects
  • Studio projects
  • Essays
  • Bachelor theses
  • Master theses

Evaluation criteria

  • Content
  • Methodological approach
  • Creativity and innovation
  • Alliance between the project idea and results
  • Clarity

Jury

The jury is composed of the following members: two young planners, one experienced member, a member of the ISOCARP Scientific Committee and a member of the ISOCARP Board.

Substance of the Award

The Award is bestowed in two categories: Winner and Special Mention. The Award winners are announced during the official ceremony at the ISOCARP annual World Planning Congress.  

Winner: one year of free membership to ISOCARP (in case of group one person of the group), free entrance to the congress, official ISOCARP certification of the award and its dissemination through the ISOCARP website, social media and newsletter.

Who is eligible?

Under or post graduate Students with a proof (university card).

Prize

  • Recognition at the ISOCARP 61st Congress in Riyadh at the Awards Special Session.
  • Certificate.
  • Waiving from the registration for a single representative of the winners.
  • One year Membership at ISOCARP for a single representative of the winners.

Registration fee

€ 25 for each application

Submission material

Each candidature (individual or group) should submit 3 pdf files as follows:

  • Portfolio with graphical representations necessary to illustrate the work (max. 4 A3 pages)
  • Description of the submitted project (no more than 5,000 characters including spaces)
  • Curriculum Vitae

Please, name the files accordingly: NAME_Portfolio / NAME_Description / NAME_CV
