In February 2017 a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between ISOCARP and Administration of Almaty Region Akimat.

The purpose of the MoU is to establish a collaborative arrangement between the parties to achieve common goals and objectives.

The MoU provides the basis for mutual cooperation on the twin objectives of bettering planning practice and planning education in the Almaty region.
