We are thrilled to announce that Mr. Hendricus Andy Simarmata, President of the Indonesian Association of Urban and Regional Planners (IAP) and Senior Lecturer on Urban and Regional Planning, Universitas Indonesia, has been selected as the General Rapporteur of the 1st International Conference for New Cities, in the Philippines, this September!

Hendricus Andy Simarmata is an Indonesian licensed spatial planner who has more than 22 years of experience in research, consultancy, and advocacy in the field of sustainable urban development. Besides being the principal planner/founder of NUA consulting and HAS Advisory, since 2020 Mr. Simarmata has been serving as a lecturer at the Master Program of Urban and Regional Planning, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia. In the last ten years, he has focused his work on mainstreaming climate change and environmental health into spatial planning. Since Nov 2019, he has been serving as the President of the Indonesian Association of Urban and Regional Planners (IAP) and since May 2020 he has been selected as one of the ISOCARP Scientific Committee members.

As the General Rapporteur, Mr. Simarmata will be responsible for the development of the content of the congress, building and guiding the NCC Conference Team during the abstract review process, structuring and managing of the parallel sessions, building the overall conference programme and other tasks.
