On 4 November 2015, the Royal Town Planning Institute and the Global Planners Network in collaboration with ISOCARP launched the Delivering Better Development: The role of the urban and rural planner at the World Town Planning Day Online conference.
In summary this joint RTPI / GPN guide:
- is an international publication and outlines the sectors, skills and reasons for employing and engaging with town planners.
- is aimed at politicians, leaders, policy-makers, architects, engineers, environmentalists, civilians and those who are interested in studying planning.
- includes case studies from around the world so readers can refer to practical, implemented examples.
- increases awareness of what planners do and how they help to achieve sustainable development and create better places for communities.
