ISOCARP invites the institutional members, National Delegations, as well as national, regional and city governments, planning agencies, universities and research institutions to submit an Expression of Interest to host Young Planning Professionals’ Intensive Training Programme (Y-ITPs).
Y-ITPs is a crucial component of ISOCARP’s dedication to promote and enhance the planning profession. The main goal of the ITPs is to provide young planning professionals who are responsible for, or will participate in, the shaping and development of knowledge for better cities, with the basic theoretical knowledge, skills and values on contemporary urbanism to use in their professional practice. Theoretical and Workshop Modules are designed for junior level YPPs (0-3 years of experience) to provide an understanding of the principles and practices of effective contemporary urbanism and to enable each participant to use theoretical knowledge in their professional practice. The following brief includes a number of elements, both the project-specific and of a general nature. These include suggestions for developing the “tailor-made” type of courses as well as other training activities. Regarding the Professional Planner Certificate, ISOCARP offers diverse models of training programmes for Planning Professionals, following a hybrid model of taught modules and workshop module.
Certificate Programmes (CPs), on the other hand, is intended for Young Planning Professionals with 0-3 years of experience in planning, but who wants to develop expertise in certain subjects. Its scope and contents is based on pre-defined module strucure and tailor-made models that respond to the context-specific demands and needs.
