Charles Lambert is a Strategic Planner, Advisor for Cities and Regional Authorities. Granted with the European Planning Award in1991, he was also in the Chair of the European Council of Town Planners for the first process of Revision of the Charter of Athens until 2002, and was granted a Life Honorary membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute, UK in 2013.
Membre titulaire de l’ Académie d’Architecture in France he was made Officier Membre de l’Ordre National de la Légion d’Honneur by the French highest authorities.
Qualified with a PhD in Social and urban sciences, he was also educated as a civil engineer and a chartered architect and was educated in planning in the class of Henri Lefebvre within the Institut d’Urbanisme de l’ Université de Paris.
As a member of ISOCARP since he was elected in the chair of the French Société Française des Urbanistes in 1978, he was appointed twice as General Rapporteur of ISOCARP’s world Congresses in 1989 and 2004,and elected as EXCO member(VP1994/1996).
Consultant, advisor for cities and regional authorities for 30 years , he operated principally in Prospective Planning (Paris, Casablanca, Marseille, Geneva,…), in sustainable preservation and development processes especially in major touristic areas as Nice-Cote d’Azur, Val d’Isere and Chamonix in the French Alps and Marrakech in Morocco, and in mobility and public transportation systems for railway authorities.
