For the Initiative for Climate Resilience Planning (ICRP) of the International Society of City and Regional Planners (ISOCARP).
We are looking for new members for the recently formed Initiative for Climate Resilience Planning (ICRP) of the International Society of City and Regional Planners (ISOCARP).
ICRP wants to empower planners to better address the challenges of the climate crisis. Today, our cities are significant sources of emissions and highly vulnerable to disaster risks. Yet, urban and regional planners often lack the capacity and advocacy needed in the global climate debate. Our mission is to amplify the voices of planning practitioners, and to enhance their preparedness for the challenges ahead. We aim to connect global networks and expertise with local, diverse practical experiences, fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange.
We are looking for three different types of volunteers for an initial term of one year. No remuneration or funding of expenses is currently possible to be offered.
2–4 SENIOR ACTIVITY LEAD (SAL)
ICRP is already conducting some core activities, such as the participation at COP and other international events and the organization of online events. We are looking for activity coordinators with established networks, experience working in international contexts, a proactive character, and the willingness to prioritize organizational tasks over thematic ones. Specific interests and ideas are welcomed.
3–6 JUNIOR ACTIVITY LEAD (JAL)
Junior activity leads shall bring an interest on sustainable urban development, international development, and resilient planning. Other skills like communications, graphic design, event organization, stakeholder outreach, donor relations, and willingness to learn are highly desirable. Each junior activity lead will support one senior activity or the overall team. This position requires a bit of time, a lot of motivation, and the willingness to learn together with experienced members.
10+ RESILIENCE PLANNING EXPERTS (RPE)
ICRP aims to get more expert planners involved in climate policy and related topics. ICRP aims to expand our existing network of planners with people who can present practical case studies, best practices, and methods at events, review thematic proposals, and guide strategic focus together with our Scientific Committee.
