ISOCARP has the following categories for individual membership:
1. Full Member
2. Young Planner/Retired Member
3. Full Affiliate Member.
Full Member
Benefits:
- Access to Members’ area on website
- regular newsletters
- networking opportunities
- reduced rates for ISOCARP events and publications
- discounts at events of affiliate institutions (when applicable)
- voting rights
- eligibility to apply for elected positions.
Criteria for Acceptance:
– five or more years of professional experience in planning or an allied profession
– endorsed by the respective country’s National Delegation (ND) or Select Committee
Membership Fees : The current fee structure is based on the World Bank’s Gross National Income Levels country of residence and holds for the country of residence.
Retired members are entitled to a 50% reduction in membership fee.
Young Planner
Benefits: same as full members
Criteria for Acceptance:
– a Young Planner is under the age of 35
– endorsed by the respective country’s National Delegation (ND) or Select Committee.
Membership Fees: 50% of the full member fee.
Full Affiliate Member (FAM)
Members/employees of an Institutional Member of ISOCARP can apply for Full Affiliate Membership (FAM). They have the privilege of paying a reduced membership fee provided that they meet the membership classification criteria and their application is endorsed yearly by the respective institution.
Additional categories (for which you cannot apply)
Life Member
– Member in good standing who has maintained membership for 30 years in a row
– Same privileges as full member
– Fees waived (on request by member).
Congress Member
A non-ISOCARP Member participating for the first time in an ISOCARP Congress is automatically considered Congress Applicant Member for one trial year (congress to congress) without any additional financial implication. He/she will receive all ISOCARP news, however, will not receive the additional membership benefits.
