  • reduced rates for ISOCARP events and publications
  • discounts at events of affiliate institutions (when applicable)
  • voting rights
  • eligibility to apply for elected positions.

Criteria for Acceptance:

  • five or more years of professional experience in planning or an allied profession;
  • endorsed by the respective country’s National Delegation (ND) or Select Committee
  • Retired members can request a 50% reduction in membership.

Membership Fees:
Current fee structure based on country of residence (based upon the World Bank’s Gross National Income Levels).

2. Young Planning Professional
Benefits & Delimitations:

  • same privileges as full members

Criteria for Acceptance:

  • a Young Planning Professional is under the age of 35
  • endorsed by National Delegation or Select Committee.

Membership Fees: 50% of the current fee structure for Full Members.

3. Associate Member

Benefits & Delimitations:

  • same privileges as full members except not being eligible to apply for elected positions
  • automatically upgraded to full membership after 5 year of membership in good standing.

Criteria for Acceptance:

  • less than five years experience in planning or an allied profession (no age limit)
  • endorsed by National Delegation or Select Committee.

 Membership Fees: 50% of the current fee structure for Full Members.

4. Full Affiliate Member (FAM)
Individuals that are member of an ISOCARP Institutional Member Organisation can apply for Full Affiliate Membership (FAM). They have the privilege of paying a reduced membership fee provided that their application is endorsed yearly by the respective institution.

Criteria for Acceptance:
Member in good standing who has maintained membership for over 30 years in a row.
Fees waived (on request by member).

Honorary Member
may be conferred to a person who has made a significant contribution to the discipline of planning.

Congress Member
A Non-ISOCARP Member participating for the first time in an ISOCARP Congress is automatically considered Congress Applicant Member for one trial year (congress to congress), without any additional financial implication.
No voting rights.
