Portland is hosting Japan’s International Forum on the FutureCity Initiative (FCI) Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at the Portland Art Museum. The FCI, which was launched in 2011, now includes 11 cities designated as “Future Cities” and 23 cities under “Eco-Model Cities.”
High-level Cabinet officers, municipal leaders, and technology and real estate development firms representing different districts and projects throughout Japan are coming to share their experiences on respective projects as well as engage with Portland industry members for an exchange on methods for regional revitalization and project-specific approaches.
This is the sixth convening and the first time it’s been held outside of Asia. Ric Stephens, President of ISOCARP will speak at the event.
