UNESCO alerts on the necessity to protect heritage and has conducted several coordination meetings with site managers and museum directors for the assessment of damages to heritage and develops emergency support actions within the framework of its mandates (education, culture, safety of journalists, solidarity networks).
UNESCO is organizing a special session of the Executive Board for this purpose on 15 March.
