Vacancy: ISOCARP WEB EDITOR

 

Background

The successful candidate will be a person who has an editorial approach in developing smart and attractive communications in online products and publications and a strong interest in the development of town and regional planning issues at international scale. This person is an innovator of the latest technologies with the ability for communicating in various forms of media.

Main results to be achieved

  • The new ISOCARP website, designed with newest web language and technology, should become one of the most acknowledged and visited repository of knowledge related to urban and regional level at global scale
  • The ISOCARP mailing lists should increase and, in the philosophy of ISCOARP, It has to be integrated by users, and potential future members, coming from practice, academy and cities administrations.
  • The ISOCARP social media tools should be daily providing “up to date” information on events, exhibitions, plans, policies, ideas, innovative topics happening in town and regional planners realm.
  • The ISOCARP awards communication and awareness should be improved.

Scope of the work and specific activities

Main aim of the work is:

  1. to keep updated the new ISOCARP website (both in terms of content and management technologies),
  2. to prepare, under supervision of VP Awards/Communication and Marketing and with collaboration of the ISOCARP Secretariat, a trimestral newsletter summing up major content and administrative.
  3. To manage and provide content for the current running social media (Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin), and to enlarge the spectrum of social media used by the Society.
  4. To manage and elaborate information related to ISOCARP awards.

Requirements

Compulsory:

  1. It is necessary to have the ISOCARP membership or having a participation as ISOCARP young planner
  2. Degree in Urban Planning, Architecture, or other faculties (e.g. Sociology, Geography, Anthropology…), it is important to demonstrate a specialization in urban studies.

The following requirements are conditions of preference, but they are not compulsory:

– Participation to editorial/technical board of National/International Journal of Urban and regional Studies

-Continuity in participation at ISOCARP Congresses

-participation in YPP workshops or UPATs

-Knowledge of HTML and JavaScript and other web pages creation languages

Available Budget

The successful candidate will receive a contract of 5000 euros (TVA included) for one year of collaboration. We calculate an average engagement of 1.5 hours/day (33 hours/month).
