Gabriel PascariuGabriel Pascariu is a Romanian architect and planner who graduated the University of Architecture and Urban Planning “Ion Mincu” in Bucharest in 1982 and worked afterwards for more than a decade in the Planning Department of a National Research and Design Institute, where he was also General Manager in 2001-2002. Since 1997 he is currently teaching on territorial and strategic planning, urban regeneration and other related issues at the Faculty of Urban Planning of the “Ion Mincu” university, where he coordinates since 2003 the master programme for Territorial Planning and Regional Development. Author of a PhD thesis in human geography on “The structure and dynamic of human settlements systems”, he took part or coordinated during the last 25 years, over 50 projects at local and territorial scale and various researches and was also a consultant for local and regional development in national and international projects. During the last 10 years he is currently participating in national and international conferences and other professional events and is member of advisory boards for Ministry of Regional Development and Ministry of Culture. Member of the editorial board of the magazine “Urbanismul – new series” (http://www.rur.ro/publicatii), he also published over 100 articles in various publications and is author or co-author of more than 15 published books and scientific reports. He was coordinated a team of young planners who got the 1st prize in the international competition “The Dnieper Pearls” in Kiev 2012. Since 2011 he is member of the Higher Board of the Romanian Register of Urban Planners and since 2013 President of the Romanian Association of Urban Planners. Also member of the National Union of Romanian Architects and SCUPAD.
