Ms Uta Dietrich’s 25-year career in Health Promotion and Urban Health has spanned education, policy, practice and research from her German roots to the USA, Hong Kong, Australia and Malaysia. As regional Director Health Promotion, she led programmes in chronic disease prevention, healthy ageing, reducing health inequities and community resilience to climate change. With United Nations University’s Institute for Global Health, she coordinated discussions across sectors on re-imagining healthy, just and sustainable cities in the lead up. Currently, Ms Dietrich is the Lead, Social Resilience and Urban Health with Think City, a social purpose organisation, in Malaysia applying a health lens to urban rejuvenation with specific focus on vulnerable communities and climate & health to increase liveability in Malaysian Cities.
