The unanimous verdict of the Jury of the International Urban Design Competition of the Shantou New East Coastal Area is as follows.

•      “Smart Chaopolis” by ARUP has won the second prize.

•      “One Shantou” by NBBJ and “Return to Shantou” by KuiperCompagnons and Paul Andreu Architecte Paris share the first prize.

In the Jury report, the entries of the design teams will be evaluated and the decision of the Jury will be explained.

ISOCARP congratulates the Shantou Municipal Government and the three design teams with the results. The New East Coastal Area is important for the future development of Shantou. To the professional judgement of the jury, the results of this international design competition mark an important turning point in the urban development of the City of Shantou.
