General Rapporteur Dushko Bogunovich:

While only 55% of the human population live in urban areas, they consume about 3/4 of all resources and generate about 3/4 of all waste. Urban consumption and pollution are the principal causes of the global climate crisis, so how we plan, design and manage cities and towns will decide the fate of 100% of the human population. Radical innovation in urban design, planning and policy is perhaps the most precious form of knowledge at this moment in human history.
