We are thrilled to announce that two new members have been appointed to the Scientific Committee of ISOCARP. With appreciation, high hopes and expectations warmly welcome Mrs. Wenjing Luo (Helen Lambert) and Dr. Marco Kamiya to this crucial role of a committee that guides the Board and our Members in identifying new trends and upcoming topics in city and regional planning. Mrs. Luo and Dr. Kamiya will be replacing Juanee Cilliers and Jesus Garate.
Wenjing Luo is appointed as member of ISOCARP’s Scientific Committee, with focus on Strategical Planning and Knowledge-based Urban Developments. She is a national registered urban planner working in WPDI located in Wuhan, China. Wenjing Luo has participated a large number of planning practices summing up to almost 100 and taken charge of diverse types of projects on a broad variety ranging from urban strategic planning, master plan, industrial planning, planning consultation to sustainable urban design, regulatory planning and urban renewal.
Dr. Marco Kamiya is appointed as member of ISOCARP’s Scientific Committee, with focus on Urban Economy and Technologies for Urban Management. Marco Kamiya works globally from UNIDO headquarters in Vienna, Austria, leading the Division of Innovation Strategies and Digitalization, managing operational and normative on frontier technologies, digital industrial programmes, and productive development policies. He is a senior member of the United Nations Economist Network, as well as advisor of interagency task forces. As new member of ISOCARP Scientific Committee, Marco will work closely with the ISOCARP Board in producing normative work and linking with academia and programmes in the area of frontier technologies of the 4th Industrial Revolution for urban management.
