ISOCARP is registered as Observer Organization within the UNFCCC to permit formal participation of a small delegation of members at the annual COPs. For the third year, we are looking for about eight ISOCARP members that are able to externally fund a one-week participation in the COP and additional members that wish to participate as online delegates. Criteria used by a small committee to anonymously rate all expressions of interest are the following:
- Able to dedicate time to broadcast, report, participate, and actively engage with activities before, during and after COP.
- Contribute to diversity and range of voices, e.g., delegates from the global south, young professionals, or activist backgrounds.
- Be a local expert, located close to Baku, Azerbaijan.
- Attending COP primarily to represent ISOCARP and network and support team on behalf of ISOCARP
- Join in team preparation events and get-together at COP.
An expression of interest to act as head of delegation for one of the two weeks and future COPs would be highly welcome. If this interests you, you have participated at least in one COP before, and are willing to dedicate more time than the typical delegate to broadcast, engage, and support the rest of the delegation, please mention this in your application.
Applicants that are not able to fund their travels or have not been selected for in-person participation can probably be placed on the virtual attendance list.
