Are you passionate about elevating the voice of planners in global climate action? ISOCARP’s Initiative for Climate Resilient Planning (ICRP) is now preparing its delegation for COP30, to be held in November 2025 in Bélem, Brazil, and we invite interested ISOCARP members (or planners ready to join) to express their interest in joining.

As an official UNFCCC observer organization, ISOCARP sends a small delegation of members to COP each year to advocate for the critical role of urban and regional planners in shaping resilient and low-carbon futures. COP30 will be especially significant, hosted in Brazil and expected to spotlight urban resilience, adaptation finance, and implementation strategies.

Delegation members will represent ISOCARP and ICRP at constituency meetings and are responsible for reporting back to ISOCARP’s members and the larger planning practitioners community.* This is a unique opportunity to engage with global climate negotiations, connect with leading stakeholders, and strengthen the case for integrated planning in climate policy.

How to Apply
Submit a short Expression of Interest outlining your background, your motivation, and any past COP or climate-related engagement.

*Note: Participation is voluntary and self-funded, as ISOCARP and ICRP currently operate without a dedicated budget. Be aware that accommodation in Belem is very expensive and is widely recognised as a restriction to access to the conference: please explore this issue before applying. If you have questions, please reach out to climate@isocarp.org.
