Members of the International Society of City and Regional Planners (ISOCARP) might have received or viewed messages from the Institute of Urban Excellence (formerly ISOCARP Institute) and the International Urban Professionals Forum.
Please note:
- ISOCARP formally ended all association with the former ISOCARP Institute, which has since rebranded.
- These groups are not affiliated with ISOCARP, and their messaging may cause confusion.
- ISOCARP has never shared member contact information and complies fully with privacy regulations. Under GDPR, you may request removal from unsolicited mailing lists.
ISOCARP’s Board is concerned that the promotion of these entities is misleading to members and professionals in the city and regional planning community.
At a time when greater unity is needed to secure and strengthen sustainability planning for current and future generations, the Board calls on its members and partners to:
- Support the international unity of city and regional planners.
- Continue encouraging fellow professionals to join and actively engage with ISOCARP.
- Promote the upcoming World Planning Congress in Riyadh this December as the premier global event for planners.
- And remain discerning in recognising privately initiated commercial “institutes” and “forums” for what they are.
- As the globally recognized, independent network of professional planners, ISOCARP has led the field for over 60 years, championing sustainable urban development across generations. ISOCARP is, and remains, a public-benefit organisation, with ECOSOC accreditation and a consultative role with the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).
We encourage members to:
- Stay discerning of unofficial initiatives.
- Support ISOCARP’s global vision and mission.
- Promote the World Planning Congress in Riyadh this December.
Thank you for your continued trust and engagement.
