ISOCARP has launched Planners for Peace, a member-led initiative that brings together planners committed to promoting peace, resilience, and recovery in communities affected by war and violent conflict.
The initiative responds to the growing number of conflicts around the world and their devastating impacts on cities, towns, and villages, as well as on cultural heritage, local economies, and natural ecosystems.
Started by a group of ISOCARP members in March 2026, Planners for Peace is an evolving platform for dialogue, advocacy, and collective action. The initiative begins with a shared statement and will continue to grow, with further opportunities for planners and planning organisations worldwide to endorse and support its goals.
