ISOCARP encourages all city and regional planners to join in vital discussions around our Society’s global agenda –

Members present and past, please make sure your membership is up to date, mark the General Meetings in your diary, exercise you right to vote in the elections, and consider nominating for the Board and the Scientific Committee — and meet with us in Riyadh, in person or online.

VIRTUAL PRE-CONGRESS

The 2025 World Planning Congress In Riyadh begins with a Virtual Pre-Congress on 10 and 11 November 2025. This is a conference that everyone, everywhere, can go to online. See the program here.

2025 ELECTIONS

The Annual General Meeting elects the Board to represent the members. Voting will begin some days prior to the AGM so all members can cast a vote for the candidates of their choice. Every member will be sent a unique link to the voting platform, enabling them to cast a secure and secret vote. So click here to join, or ensure your membership is current.

NOMINATIONS FOR ELECTION TO THE BOARD

All members are encouraged to consider standing for election to the Board.

  • The Board has a total of eleven members. There are six vacancies to fill in the 2025 elections. The nomination process is straightforward. You may nominate another member, or you may nominate yourself. Access the online nomination form here.
  • The dedicated email address for enquiries about the elections is elections@isocarp.org.

When you have considered all that, be sure to submit your form before nominations close on
14 November 2025

SPECIAL GENERAL MEETING

Note the date:  Tuesday, 18 November 2025, at 1 pm CET.
That is 4 am in San Francisco, 7 am in New York, 9 am in Rio, 12 noon in London and Lagos,
2 pm in Istanbul and Nairobi, 4:30 pm in New Delhi, and 7 pm in Beijing, KL, Manila and Perth.

There will be news, updates, important decisions to be made, and general business. The Board is placing before the members a number of proposals to enable and/or clarify matters of current significance. The motions are listed and explained here.

The Board encourages all members to participate. You are asked to register in advance, so ensure your membership is up to date.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

Note the date:  Tuesday, 3 December 2025.
The 2025 AGM will be attended in person by delegates to the 2025 World Planning Congress in Riyadh, and worldwide by members online.

NOMINATIONS FOR THE SCIENTIFIC COMMITTEE

The Scientific Committee advises the Board, the Executive Committee (ExCom), the World Planning Congress teams and other working bodies in the Society on major technical planning issues, with professional and academic integrity and competence. Members are encouraged to consider nominating for appointment to the Committee. You may nominate another member, or you may nominate yourself. Access the online nomination form here.

2025 WORLD PLANNING CONGRESS RIYADH

This will be a gathering of friends and colleagues from around the world, a stimulating conference, and a fantastic experience. The theme is “Cities and Regions in Action: Planning Pathways to Resilience and Quality of Life.” It’s all on the Congress website.
