It’s with great sadness that we have to inform you that Alex Macgregor passed away last week. Alex was ISOCARP Secretary General between 2010-2013, and many members would know him personally, as a very involved and passionate member. His wife Mitzi (married 55 years) wrote: “For me, personally, and also for Alex, ISOCARP was like an extended family. Congresses were like family reunions occurring every couple of years, providing an opportunity to see old friends and make new ones, catch up on personal events as well as professional ones.”

Alex was a highly talented and skilled architect. He ran his own small design studio in Scotland and worked on a wide range of projects in Europe, the Middle East, the Far East and in America. He also was Visiting Professor to Taliesen, Arizona and Visiting Professor at the Tokyo Institute of Technology.

He was very good to the employees during his time as Secretary General. We will remember him as a committed and generous person.
