The deadline for applications for the Congress Team of the Siena Congress and the Conference Team of the NCC Conference is extended to the 15th of April! Due to the high demand from our new members to apply, some changes have been made to the Eligibility Criteria below!

This year, as we celebrate 60 years of ISOCARP congresses, we will mark the occasion with the brand: 60th WORLD PLANNING CONGRESS DIAMOND ANNIVERSARY SERIES. 

A Grand and Diverse Congress Unfolds:

  • Geographically spanning both the global north and south,
  • Temporally unfolding throughout the year with numerous events, and
  • Thematically encompassing a wide spectrum from traditional urban planning and design to cutting-edge contemporary and future planning matters.

This special year will be marked by two main events:

THE 60TH WORLD PLANNING CONGRESS,

our classic flagship event, themed “Reinventing the (In)Visible Cities.” The Congress will be held in the historic city of Siena, Italy from 9th to 12th October 2024.

The 1st International Conference for New Cities,

focusing on “Planning New Regenerative Cities.” to be held in New Clark City, Philippines from 10th to 13th September 2024

Each year, our Track Rapporteurs play a vital role in shaping our congress, using their expertise to curate content, facilitate quality sessions, and foster engaging discussions that define ISOCARP events. We extend a warm invitation for you to volunteer for a position in the Congress Team of your choice. Applications are welcome from individuals across the private, public, and academic sectors, spanning the globe. We eagerly await your submissions!

Track Rapporteurs’ and General Rapporteur’s Responsibilities

Track Rapporteurs and General Rapporteur Benefits          

As per ISOCARP policy, Congress Team Rapporteurs shall receive a free Congress registration. However, travel and accommodation expenses are not covered and shall be borne by the Congress Team Members and the GR respectively. Being part of the Congress Team is an unforgettable experience and commendable contribution to the advancement of planning knowledge and the strengthening of our society of planners from around the world. Working in a tightly knit team throughout the project and eventually enjoying the outcomes during the event is indeed a highly rewarding and fulfilling endeavour. Last but not least, the networking opportunities and exposure to academics and practitioners in the field is also considerable.

Eligibility Criteria 

Track rapporteurs and the General Rapporteur are expected to:

  1. have extensive experience and knowledge of the respective track/area they cover

  1. have attended at least one ISOCARP Congress in the past or have been engaged in a similar role in other congresses

  1. be an ISOCARP member

  1. be able to travel to the respective event they are applying for (on-site presence during the event)

  1. be computer savvy and be able to easily navigate online reviewing platforms, online shared documents and spreadsheets, online meeting platforms, etc.

  1. have read carefully the key responsibilities of their role and have adequate time to commit for their realisation, before, during, and after the event.

If you are interested to work as a Track Rapporteur or General Rapporteur, please fill in the respective form below. You will be asked to upload your CV, a letter of intent (no more than 250 words) and other details. In the process of selecting Congress Team Rapporteurs, we will consider the candidates’ qualifications and experience as well as gender and regional balances.
