The 51st ISOCARP International Planning Congress “Cities Save the World: Let’s Reinvent Planning” will take place from 17 to 23 October 2015 in the Netherlands where ISOCARP was founded 50 years ago and in Belgium and Germany.
Twelve cities in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany will host 2-day interactive workshops on topical themes to them and to planners worldwide. In each city the discussion will be lead by two co-rapporteurs assisted by young planning professionals. The conclusions and lessons learnt of the workshops will be debated at the plenary in Rotterdam, Netherlands.
Congress participants are invited to make professional contributions to one of these 12 workshops. The may submit papers, research results, but also practical experiences, pilot projects, spatial strategies, plans, or case studies. All of these contributions have to be directly relevant to the respective 12 city topics and the submissions have to be directed to a specific workshop.
The workshop themes are:
- Amsterdam: How to build the city in a cooperative way?
- Antwerp: How to rework the productive city?
- Brussels: How to match local expectations with strong international challenges?
- Delft-The Hague: How to create a sustainable knowledge region?
- Deventer: How to implement a (national) legal framework through local integrated planning?
